90 Points James Suckling
Aromas of black cherry, currant, tobacco, sweet spices, rose petal, and a hint of orange zest. Red plum and juicy blackberries are layered with notes of mineral spice and oak on the palate. Notes of fresh strawberries and subtle vanilla bean. A classic and complex Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
Winemaker NotesMarked by two major heat waves during the year, 2021 brought new record high temperatures all across Oregon. While slightly worrisome in the moment, the 2021 vintage is quickly gaining momentum as one of the best vintages ever for many winemakers in the valley. The month of September is what helped this vintage shine. The Willamette Valley saw a return to average cool-climate temperatures for the entire month. At night the cool air allowed the grapes to ripen slowly, keeping acid levels high while still balanced with the sugars.
