91 Points James Suckling
An unusual, deep straw color for this grape (many simpler wines from which are water white!). Intense dried-pear and quince aromas are married to a wine that combines considerable presence on the palate for just 11.5% alcohol with a cool and light style. The tannins build on the restrained finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.
Winemaker Notes:
Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio Porer is a fine example of Alto Adige's winemaking prowess, showcasing a Pinot Grigio that transcends the ordinary. This wine is distinguished by its straw-yellow color with a slight pink hue, reflecting the skin contact during the winemaking process. Aromas of ripe pear, apple, and floral undertones lead to a palate that is rich, yet crisp, with a minerality and acidity that are impeccably balanced. The Porer Pinot Grigio is a reflection of Alois Lageder's commitment to biodynamic farming practices and their dedication to expressing the varietal's true character. Pair this Pinot Grigio with light seafood dishes, poultry, or fresh salads. Its elegance and depth also make it a sophisticated choice for sipping on its own, offering a moment of pure enjoyment.
