Vineyard Notes

Croft Vineyard is truly one of the top white wine vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley. The vineyard is located southwest of the Eola Hills near the town of Monmouth. The organically farmed Croft Vineyard is in the foothills of the coast range and grown in ancient marine sediment soils. The vineyard is dry farmed. Owned by Chancy and Toni Croft and farmed by Lee Croft, Jay Somers has been working with the Sauvignon Blanc since 1999. The 2004 Croft Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc he made won best white wine of the year in Sunset Magazine and has been a little bit of a cult wine ever since. Jay works with 1 acre of the Clone 1 Sauvignon Blanc.

Wine Notes

Fermented in 60% stainless steel and 40% concrete egg, the 2020 is a bit more linear than the inaugural 2019 release. The grapes were very lightly pressed; there is no hints of smoke on this wine. It has beautiful aromatics and mouthwatering acidity.
