90 Points Jeb Dunnuck

The profile of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford moves toward scorched earth and spice, with menthol and dried currant. The palate has another gear, with great freshness and more lasting fruit of boysenberry and wild herbs, followed by a long finish.

90 Points Wine Spectator

Open in feel, with red currant and steeped plum notes laced with apple wood and ample savory accents. A toasty edge takes over on the finish. Drink now.

Winemaker Note

A classic vintage for Rutherford Cabernet showing the familiar dark, rich, ripe aromas of black cherry, plum and boysenberry. True to its unique terroir and and well drained soil this part of the Napa valley consistently produces wines with concentration and great depth. Lush and smooth on entry, the complex layers of sweet black fruit, spice and black licorice are well integrated with a touch toasty oak influence. This full-bodied wine finishes with integrated, resolved tannins and balanced acidity allowing it to play well now, but giving it the longevity to evolve in the cellar.

Blend: 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot
