95 Points James Suckling
Lots of blackberry and forest-floor aromas with pine needles and bark that follow through to a full body with a pretty framing of chewy yet medium-grained tannins and a flavorful finish. Fresh too. Try after 2025.
94 Points Wine Enthusiast
A larger production offering blended with tiny amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot, aged 18 months in French oak, most of it one year old, this wine is earthy and thick. Tobacco, tar and grippy tannins round out a palate of rich black fruit and leathery texture.
93 Points Wine Spectator
Offers good intensity and energy, with bramble-edged plum, blackberry and boysenberry compote flavors pumping through. The finish is scored by sweet tobacco and apple wood. Best from 2023 through 2034.
92 Points Jeb Dunnuck
The base appellation 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is solid, offering a dense purple color to go with beautiful cassis and blueberry fruit as well as notes of tobacco, graphite, and crushed stone. Rich and mouth-filling, it has some firmer, chewy tannins, but loads of mid-palate depth and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years.
91 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up blackcurrant pastilles, plum preserves and baked blackberry notes with touches of tobacco leaf and stewed black tea. Medium to full-bodied, plush and laden with bright, juicy fruit, it finishes with a peppery kick.
Winemaker Notes
On the nose, black fruits, Bing cherry, saddleback, gun flint, crushed rock and minerality. On the palate, black raspberry, elderberry, black licorice, rose petals, mocha, vanilla extract, with a rich and layered mouthfeel. Blend: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot
