Blend: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec and 2% Petite Verdot
95 Points Wine Advocate
The deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon features cedar, warm blackcurrants, black cherry compote and blueberry pie with touches of dark chocolate, dried herbs, garrigue and lavender. The palate is full-bodied, firm and fine-grained with lovely freshness and a long finish.
95 Poibts Jeb Dunnuck
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is an inky colored 2017 that has a great nose of blueberries, blackcurrants, toasted spice, tobacco leaf, and chalky minerality. Beautifully balanced, full-bodied, and elegant on the palate, with awesome purity of fruit, it's well worth seeking out and is a slam dunk in 2017 Cabernet.
Winemaker Notes
Expect to find deep aromas of cassis, black cherry, incense, dark chocolate, caramelized oak, toffee, and the Buoncristiani signatures of balance, depth on the mid palate, and a lengthy persistent finish. Precise amounts of Malbec were carefully folded into the final blend to add complexity and depth to the profile. Twenty months aging in 85% new French oak barrels rounded out the palate even further, while adding more texture, aroma and flavor.
